Haryana Schools to reopen after August 15, only final year students to appear in college exams- Chief Minister

Chandigarh-Haryana Chief Minister has announced that schools would be reopening after August 15, 2020, in the state. He also informed that the colleges would conduct exams only for final year students- Read here


The ministry of human resource development, MHRD minister Ramesh Pokhriyal recently announced that schools and colleges would be allowed to re-open after August 15 in a phased manner. After this Haryana’s chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar following the guidelines announced the same for Haryana schools too. Now the schools in the state would reopen in the second half of August. Also as per his announcement, the colleges would only conduct exams for the last semester students.
Earlier, the state government was of the opinion to reopen schools in July itself. As per the initial schedule, the government of Haryana had decided to resume classes for standard 10th, 11th and 12th in July. This was to be followed by classes 6th to 9th and then the primary classes. Now as per the changed plan the schedule would be released soon for classes in August.


The Chief Minister has also made an announcement for the colleges. He said,  "the students in their final year of college will have to appear for their exams in July, while others will be promoted to the next classes on the basis of average marks obtained in their last semester.” Read| HBSE Result 2020 Date & Time: Haryana Board Class 10th results Not releasing on June 8
As per an earlier report, the HRD minister had said the final decision on reopening schools will be taken after an assessment of the present health situation of the country. “We hope that the results of both 10th and 12th class will be declared by August 15. These include the results of previous exams and the results of examinations in July, ” the HRD minister said while talking to reporters. The HRD ministry is working with the Boards and the state governments to come up with a phased schedule for the reopening of schools across the country.
