New Delhi- Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee today offered DSGMC Serai(Inn) at Historic Gurdwara Majnu Ka Tilla set up in banks of Yamuna in National Capital Delhi for setting up isolation ward and quarantine facilites for Corona Patients to strengthen infrastructural facilities to fight the deadly disease.
The offer was made by DSGMC President Manjinder Singh Sirsa in a letter written to Delhi Chief Minister Sh Arvind Kejrriwal in which the entire 20 rooms in Inn ( Serai) with all modern facilities like separate toilet bath attached with every room and every room fitted with air conditioners/air collers can be utilized by Govt authorities for treating corona patients in a manner deemed fit by heath authorities to strenghthen the Govt resolve to fight the deadly virus .He said that DSGMC will provide separate rooms for heath staff Doctors /Nurses etc with ample parking in Gurdwara permises in most safe and secure environment.
.He said that DSGMC will also arrange Langar ( free food ) for every patient admitted and treating health officials deployed in the serai by the authorities and will also extend all other facilities /infrastructure available with DSGMC for treatment of Corona Patients .
He said that Gurdwaras have been providng support to all needy people affected due to epidemic by providing langar services to all needy in national capital to fight hunger and poverty during this crisis time . He said that Gurdwara Committee is fully prepared to provide packed food packets to Govt Agencies or any other needy institutions to meet food requirements of society at large and told that DSGMC has formulated plan to arrange around 10 lakh food packets immediately to Govt agencies whenever any such needs arises
He said that decision was taken in view of teaching of Sikh Gurus and highest traditon of Sikh Religion to serve the humanity and mankind and set highest standards of sacrifices during crisis and emergencies .
He said that Jathedar Akal Takht has directed the sikhs worldwide to provide all assistance to govt authorities and help the corona patients irrespective of any consideration of religion, caste and region and Sikhs will fully abide Akal Takht Directives in letter and spirit.
DSGMC President Manjinder Sirsa told Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal about sacrifices made by Sikh Gurus to save the humanity in the past and told that Sikh Guru Harkrishan sahib ji had treated million of people in Delhi during terrible epidemic of cholera and smallpox in the year 1663-1664 from permises of Gurdwara Bangla Sahib ji and added that . Guru ji spent most of his time in serving the humble, the sick and the destitute. during epidemic when human life existence was seriously threatened . Guru ji distributed medicines, food and clothes to the needy during epidemic in National Capital as result of which lives of millions of people were saved .
He said that the present Sikh masses will act as true soldiers of Guru ji during present tough times and will serve humanity in perfect fearless and fully illuminated soul.
Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee is in forefront to fight this epidemic and has distributed thousands of free protective masks in national capital Delhi to prevent the transmission of Corona Virus among common citizens said Sh Manjinder Singh Sirsa President DSGMC .
DSGMC President Manjinder Singh Sirsa said that all Gurdwara has been asked to take proactive steps to regularly clean and sanitize all Gurdwara Compexes to prevent any respiratory illness.
