AMRITSAR —The district administration of Amritsar has denied permission to hold Ghallughara Remembrance March on June 5. Notably, Dal Khalsa takes out this march every year to mark the anniversary of the June-1984 holocaust.

Interacting with media on June 3, Dal Khalsa’s spokesperson Kanwarpal Singh informed that the administration had sought program details from them, after which they submitted the same. “Today, we have received a written communication from the district administration in which they have denied permission to hold Ghallughara Remembrance March on June 5,” he told media on June 3.

"As of 3rd June, Punjab has a total of 300 active cases out of 2,376 patients that have tested positive so far," the Chief Minister informed in a tweet.

The  Punjab, government has notified the,Affordable Colony Policy, 2020’ to facilitate affordable housing for people of lower and middle income groups in the state.

The policy is mainly applicable outside the municipal limits but it also covers projects within the municipal limits that have been approved by the housing and urban development department.

The affordable housing colony will be permissible in the residential and mix land use zones of master plans. Where no master plan is in operation, the affordable colony will be permitted as per the existing trend of the development in the surrounding area.

Chandigarh, Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh, here on Monday, welcomed the Punjab State Electricity Regulatory Commission's (PSERC) decision to reduce the domestic tariff despite dip in revenue due to the Covid-19 lockdown.

Chandigarh,  In line with the Central government's guidelines for 'Unlock 1.0', Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh on Sunday ordered formulation of clearly defined guidelines for opening up of hotels, hospitality services, shopping malls, places of worship, and restaurants for in-dining, from June 8, while announcing immediate opening up of shops, including liquor and barber shops, beauty parlours, spas, etc, from Monday in the non-containment zones.

He has directed the Health and Transport Departments to come out with detailed SOPs for permitted activities and movement in this phase of the lockdown, beginning June 1 till June 30, for the areas outside containment zones.
